Project SEE the Future Project SEE the Future is an intensive, in school program designed to build the necessary skills that activate personal and academic success. Project SEE is structured around three core areas of learning. o Self-Awareness Core o Creative Expression Core o Service Learning Core SELF-AWARENESS CORE “Successful people understand their talents and build their lives upon them”. Project SEE helps students identify and develop their talents into strengths. We use the Strength Explorers survey to identify those strengths and take specific action steps to be more successful. Today, students face many different kinds of challenges. The pressures they feel and the challenges they confront at school and in our communities are very real and stressful. Project SEE promotes healthy strategies to deal with the stress we all experience. Jr High students are all about emotion, energy and drama. They are learning how to manage their feelings, develop good communication and how to solve their problems. In Project SEE students discover life skills that support healthy relationships with themselves and others. CREATIVE EXPRESSION Students and adults have an abundance of creative energy waiting to be explored and expressed. Project SEE uses creative arts to give students a voice, about their life experience, what matters and what is meaningful to them. SERVICE LEARNING Service Learning is an opportunity for students to connect with their community. They learn to assess community needs and develop projects to meet those needs. The students in Project SEE will demonstrate leadership skills, and increase their awareness of their personal power to create meaningful change. Students will gain social and cultural competence as they develop service-learning projects in their community. The DETAILS… Washington Project SEE students will meet every morning Monday through Friday. They will use interactive exercises, games, creative arts, skill practice, group discussion and service projects to integrate the three core areas of learning into their everyday life. Ask Project SEE students about their STRENGTHS and stay tuned for our success stories! |
